The spine of the computer system is the Motherboard. It is made up of green and brown fiber glass. It is placed in bottom or side of the case. It is very important component of the computer system because it connect all the other components to each other.
There are two types of motherboard
1- Integrated Motherboard
2- Non-Integrated Motherboard
Integrated Motherboard
In this type of motherboard all components including (Audio, Video & Network) devices is already attach to the motherboard circuit as a form of IC (Integrated Circuit).
Non-Integrated Motherboard
In this type of motherboard required (Audio, Video & Network) devices to be added to the system with the expansion slots.
AT Motherboard
AT stands for Advanced Technology it was an oldest motherboard technology nowadays it is not in use.
In a very simple way you can identify it because 2 six pin power connectors were found on top of this motherboard.
ATX Motherboard
ATX stands for Advanced Technology Extended it has 20 pin single power connector found on to the motherboard circuit.
